News of 10 years success discussed in a program on 19 June 2010 in Press Club VIP Lounge.

To drive away the discrimination of education between cities and villages, to raise a social movement against note book, guide book, coaching centers and eve-teasing as well as to modernize the education system, religion and morality must be uphold. Only then the nation will be developed. Speakers said this in the Discussion Meeting and Milad Mahfil organized by Shikkhar Maan Songrakkhon O Nokol Protirodh Andolon on the occasion of its 10th Founding Anniversary.

Presided over by the convener of the organization former member of parliament Chhatrobondhu Miah Abdullah Wazed, the meeting was attended among others by former Minister of Planning and member of BNP Standing Committee Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, former Education Minister Dr. Osman Farok, President of JAGPA Shafiul Alam Prodhan, President of the Press Club Shaokot Mahmud, editor of Noya Diganta Alamgir Mohiuddin, General Secretary of Islami Okkyojote Maolana Abdul Latif Nezamee, Chairman of Vasani Front Momtaz Choudhury, Advocate Ali Ahmed, Coordinator of Foreign Affairs Millat-Uz-Zaman, Professor Hafez Md. Hafizur Rahman, Hamdullah Al Mehedee, Professor Shameem Sarwar and Maolana Ainul Islam.

Dr. Moin Khan in his speech as the chief guest said the learners’ imaginative power, merit and creativity will make a halt to unfair means. Creative knowledge should widely be spread and our education system should also be well equipped. The increase in the number of certificate holders does not mean an increase in the knowledge base.

In his speech as a special guest Dr. Osman farok said Miah Abdullah Wazed launched this movement ten years ago. Miah Abdullah Wazed has his contribution to today’s unfair means free environment. I congratulate him, we don’t want our future generation become ethicless, we want them know their respective religion matters and thus they become good citizen because religion is the forerunner of civilization.

Student politics look its origin due to historical context, but they need to be the kings of morals, said Shafiul Alam Prodhan. He bowed down to Miah Abdullah Wazed for his great contribution to combat disaster in education sector.

Press club president Shaokot Mahmud said now-a-days honest, enlightened middle class has been extinct; as a result, movement has become necessary to check eve-teasing, drug addiction, and unfair means. If that middle class had existed, we would have never forged a movement. He congratulated Miah Abdullah Wazed for his contribution to resist unfair means and disaster in education sector. Miah Abdullah Wazed has not yet been rewarded by the government though national awards are conferred to people for great contribution, said Abdul Latif Nezame, General Secretary of Islami Okkyojote. He urged the government to announce national award to Miah Abdullah Wazed for his contribution to education sector.

In his speech Miah Abdullah Wazed said in the post liberation period of 1971, festival of unfair means started in the country. But in 1999 our movement came to light. As a result the percentage of passed students has reached to 80. Though the rate has been increased in the famous institutions, this rate differs widely in the institutions of villages; proper steps should be taken in this regard. Demanding one faced system of education in the primary level for all students of cities and villages, rich and poor, he said note book, guide book and coaching centers must be stopped and students should refrain from party politics. He addressed the government to present the nation with an education policy conforming to social values and ethics.
